Experienced audio-visual producers

Darryl Anderson
Executive Producer, Television Presenter

As a producer for broadcast TV across metropolitan and regional Australia since 1993, Darryl Anderson understands how to deliver riveting viewing to audiences – and how to simply deliver to the bottom line.

Formerly a news reporter with Channel Ten News, the senior reporter and producer for Australia’s popular rural-affairs program “Cross Country”, and a presenter for the TV food show “Good Taste”, Darryl founded Anvil Media in 2000.

At the time, he recognised the need for an audio-visual production agency with an approachable attitude, the ability to deliver high production values to regional locations and an understanding that cultural sensitivities inherently shape target markets.

He's a country bloke at heart who understands Australia’s rich rural heritage. Darryl comes from a family that's been farming for generations - from market-gardening on Sydney's (then) fringe, to inland dairying and broadacre cropping in central west NSW. He studied a bachelor of agricultural economics at the University of Sydney.

Today, he retains his passion for hosting and presenting, a love of visual storytelling, strong experience with the challenging production logistics of isolated locations, and the understanding that good media is media that achieves its strategic goal.

Darryl is based in Sydney’s inner west, but the self-professed “inlander in exile” also calls country Australia home. And don't get him started on why Warnie's the greatest bowler, Dave Gilmour is the greatest guitarist, or why wheat is the most amazing plant in existence!

Darren Blin
Editor, Cameraman

Writing about himself in the third-person doesn’t always sit well with Darren; sitting behind the eyepiece of a camera or at the helm of an edit suite, does. People say he has a great eye for detail when, in fact, he has two. This unique stereoscopic feature helps Darren with depth perception.

It’s depth perception that helped hone his skills as a focus-puller for a large roster of renowned cinematographers in Toronto’s busy high-end commercial industry. In 2000, Darren opted for a lifestyle change and moved to Australia.

He now finds himself  “in the field” filming rural livestock and landscapes. In a sense, he is now paid to watch grass grow.

Darren would like to re-appropriate the term “mastermind” from rogue elements of society and apply it to what he does on a daily basis. He minds the master tapes as well as making sure what goes on them is visual dynamite.  He is awesome.
